Troop 271 has been chartered to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church for 45+ years. We belong to the Black Wolf District of Dan Beard Council, in Cincinnati Ohio.
In those 45 years, Troop 271 has been blessed with many dedicated adults, who have given up countless hours guiding young men towards becoming adults and leaders. The current list of adult leaders can be viewed on this site by clicking on the Adult Committee button.
Troop 271 has produced more than 55 Eagle Scouts, with the highlight being two families with four sons attaining the rank of Eagle. While the rank of Eagle is the ultimate goal of ever boy who joins Boy Scouts, there have been thousands of boys who have passed through the ranks at Troop 271 and never attained Eagle. We believe that these boys gained lifelong values that only the Boy Scout program can provide and have become better citizens. You will find many of these young men working in the Cincinnati area and some of them as Scout Leaders in Boy Scout Troops, including our current Scoutmaster.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Led by our current Scoutmaster, Fred Pies, the vision for Troop 271 is a boy-led program with many leadership-building and exciting outdoor activities. It's the variety that keeps the program exciting and causes the young men to think and become better leaders.
