Adult Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and Coaching.
- Teach Scouting Skills. Get outside resources and help as needed.
- Provide opportunities for the Troop to accomplish its goals.
- Encourage Scouts to grow, participate and advance.
- Work to keep the programs interesting, stimulating, enjoyable, active and safe.
- Hold Scouts accountable for their actions and responsibilities.
- Allow and encourage the Scouts to run meetings, campouts, and other activities as much as they can.
- Set a good example for the Scouts. One example is to keep Cell phone usage to a minimum at all scouting events.
Walk away from the group when Cell phone usage is necessary.
- Ensure that scout activities are conducted safely and according to scouting guidelines.
- Provide adequate, safe transportation for all activities.
- Recruit new Scouts.
- Help provide adequate funding for the Troop.
- Help to maintain Troop equipment.
- Keep advancement and all other necessary records up to date and accurate.
- Maintain contact with parents and guardians.
- Operate an active Troop Committee.
- Maintain a good working relationship with our sponsoring organization, St. Teresa of Avila Church.
- Obtain the proper tour permits from Scout headquarters for all trips and events that require them.
- Seek out and recruit other adults from the Scouting family to train and maintain an adequate number of qualified adult
leaders to ensure TWO DEEP leadership at ALL TIMES.
